Kathryn is a certified Vocal Instructor with the Institute for Vocal Advancement. She has a passion for quality teaching and encouraging the development of singing students and her band. In fact, two of her first students, Jasmine Storey and Bethany Forrest are now her backing singers with The Soul Engineers. It is her passion to bring a high quality of vocal technique to the people of the North East and further afield.
She trained with world class vocal instructors Greg Enriquez, Spencer Welch, Guy Babusek and Jeffrey Skouson, protégés of Michael Jackson’s singing mentor, Seth Riggs and gained her qualification in December 2014.
Since then, Kathryn has launched her own business Kathryn Lowdon Vocal Studios and has been congratulated for her entrepreneurial spirit by BDaily Magazine, The Evening Chronicle, Generator North East and BBC Newcastle. Kathryn’s students continue to grow and she loves to watch their development with every lesson.
Kathryn is now teaching individual singing lessons at her studio in Newcastle city centre and workshops throughout the North East and worldwide via Skype.
